Volunteers are the only human beings on the face of the earth who reflect this nation’s passion, unselfish caring, patience, and just plain love for one another.–Erma Bombeck
In 2010 over 1,000 volunteers came through our doors to have an impact on the Linden community. Each one came to help, but often found themselves changed in a positive way by their experiences. They did not expect to feel so rewarded and fulfilled by there interactions with our clients.
Our volunteers helped the seniors to learn how to use the computer, assisted the seniors with weekly activities, helped stock the food pantry and load clients cars. Over 700 volunteers participated in the Christmas Care program, helping us to serve over 2989 families in just two days!
Our after school program and child care benefitted from compassionate and patient volunteers who tutored and assisted in daily activities. More children received one on one attention because the staff were supported by the volunteers.
Families received immediate assistance in Emergency Services from wonderful volunteers who came everyday to register families and answer phones.
On Community Care Day, over 46 volunteers painted, cleaned and beautified the grounds.
